Seems like the tension decreased a bit if we consider the current situation of the online casino and poker gambling industries. They were only waiting for the public reaction after the airing of the Sixty Minutes Program, uncovering two cheating scandals which have rocked the world over the past year. Tokwiro Enterprises and many other online poker gambling companies felt a small relief when it turned out that the program didn’t bring such a great damage to the industry as it was expected- that’s at least the opinion of the industry analysts. No wonder that they were waiting for the worst, since the scandals were the largest in the history of the industry- more money was fraudulently taken than ever before at online casinos and internet poker gambling sites.
To refresh your memory, or give any idea if you are not familiar with the issue, sister online poker sites Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet were both involved in these infamous cheating scandals. Some rumors say that the scandals topped $20 million in lost funds and money fraudulently taken from internet gamblers. Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet are licensed by the Kahnawake Gaming Commission in Canada. Their owner and operator is Tokwiro Enterprises.
A bit over a year ago, in August the first scandal was uncovered. We didn’t have to wait long for the second one, which was uncovered just six months later at a sister site. Surprisingly, the online casinos and poker sites didn’t notice that a huge scale cheating was in action. It was the internet poker community who uncovered the scandals.
The whole case was a little bit strange and mysterious from the very beginning. First of all, there was actually lack of information on the issue, which caused much controversy and doubts. Secondly, what is even more surprising, no one has been prosecuted or arrested in connection with the crimes.
