The Sixty Minutes program did not have such a devastating impact on Tokwiro enterprises and the online poker gambling industry as it was suspected. The program actually had only a few radical comments about the industry as a whole. The most striking was definitely the way in which the program described how Tokwiro Enterprises has handled the prosecution and bringing justice to those who stole the millions from unsuspecting online casino poker gamblers.
Also, a strong connection between the online casino gambling sites in question, Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet, and the Gaming Commission supposedly licensing and regulating these two companies was introduced. The program put an emphasis on the controversial fact that there has been little justice brought to the one online casino poker gambler linked to the crime. As the program underlined, this was directly related to the fact that the founder and head of Tokwiro Enterprises is the former Grand Chief of the Kahnawake tribe- the very Chief who established the Kahnawake Gaming Commission and now operates within the Commissions sphere of influence.
Interestingly, Russ Hamilton, the one player officially linked to the crime scandal has not been arrested and tried for the crimes. The only explanation provided by Tokwiro and the KGC was that it is very difficult to find the dishonest player. Another issue where a question mark had been put concerns the fact that despite the very serious nature of crimes, Tokwiro’s gambling license from the KGC has never been suspended for any period of time in relation to this huge online poker cheating scandal.
